Priyanka Chopra Jonas is all set to be seen next in the highly-anticipated Prime Video series, Citadel, premiering on April 28. Starring alongside Richard Madden, best known playing Robb Stark in Game of Thrones and Ikaris in Eternals, the upcoming spy thriller has been created by David Weil with Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo acting as executive producers. With less than 10 days for the six-episode first season of Citadel to premiere, Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden sat down for an interview with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, to talk about the highly-anticipated science fiction action thriller television series.
Upon being queried what it feels like to be a global icon, Priyanka Chopra stated, "There have been many, many taglines that get attached to people. I'm just a girl who's trying to do her job honestly." When told she sounds like Julia Roberts' character in Notting Hill (1999), the actress added, "That's true. I did." She continued, "I try not to walk into my job or my work with the pressure of that because that can be scary for anyone. I'm just trying to do the best work I can and that's just the by-product of what happened."
Considering her character Nadia Sinh in Citadel speaks several languages like Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, and so on, Priyanka Chopra opened up on learning a new language for her role. She said, "I'm trying to learn many new languages. I've downloaded Duolingo, which is this app that teaches you languages. I've tried Italian, Spanish, and I do speak the language here and there. But, I'm fascinated with language. I would love to speak Italian or Spanish."
