Leading actor-filmmaker Prabhu Deva will kick off 2023 with the release of his long-awaited film, Bagheera, directed by Adhik Ravichandran of Trisha illana Nayanthara fame. Billed to be a dark comedy thriller, the upcoming film features an ensemble female cast among whom include Amyra Dastur, Remya Nambeesan, Janani, Sanchita Shetty, Gayathrie Shankar, Sakshi Agarwal, Sonia Agarwal, Pragathi in pivotal roles, with the trailer released in 2021 creating a lot of buzz. Initially announced to open in cinemas on August 11, 2022, Bagheera had been postponed indefinitely, with the new release date now being revealed in an official announcement.
Announcing the release plans of Bagheera, Adhik Ravichandran has confirmed that the film will hit screens worldwide on March 3. Produced by R.V.Bharathan and co-produced by S.V.R Ravi Shankar, the trailer of the film got many fans excited as it showed Prabhu Deva in a completely new avatar where he was seen sporting various different looks, while playing the role of what appeared to a psycho-killer. There has been a considerable amount of excitement surrounding Bagheera ever since the first look poster was released and it now remains to be seen how the film performs at the box office. Bagheera is Trisha Illana Nayanthara director Adhik Ravichandran's next after he collaborated with Silambarasan TR in the 2017 film, Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan. He is currently making the Vishal-starrer Mark Antony set in the 1970s time period, which also has SJ Suryah, and the young director will be looking to hit the bulls-eye with Bagheera. Adhik had also made appearances in a few films apart from direction most notably in Ajith Kumar's Nerkonda Paarvai and 'Chiyaan' Vikram's Cobra.
