Actor Prabhas is currently one of the most sought-after stars in the country after the blockbuster success of his Baahubali films and was seen on the big screen in the high-budget action flick, Saaho in 2019. The Telugu superstar has since been announced to be a part of four upcoming pan-Indian films starting with Radhe Shyam opposite Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo actress Pooja Hegde, the mythological Adipurush which will based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, followed by Salaar with KGF director Prashanth Neel and a sci-fi venture starring Deepika Padukone and legendary Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan tentatively titled Project K.
Among the highly promising film lineup, Project K with Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan was initially being called Prabhas 21 and has begun rolling on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima on Saturday. The mega budget pan-Indian venture is being directed by Mahanati fame Nag Ashwin under C Aswani Dutt's Vyjayanthi Movies banner. Taking to Instagram, Prabhas dropped the shooting start announcement of Project K and said that he feels honored to be performing the first Clap shot for Amitabh Bachchan. Apart from Deepika Padukone as the female lead and Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role, Prabhas' tentatively titled Project K will see him share screen space alongside iconic South Indian filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, with the venture also a prestigious one for Vyjayanthi Movies as they celebrated their 50th year in the entertainment industry in 2020. Expectations for Prabhas 21/Project K have been massive right from the moment of its announcement last year as fans have been excited at the prospect of witnessing the Telugu star alongside names like Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan, who have over the years also starred in Hollywood films.
