Leading actor Prabhas' Adipurush, based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, is one of the biggest projects currently in the making and had its teaser launched in a grand manner on Sunday, October 2. The upcoming film directed by Om Raut has the pan-Indian star portraying Raghava (Lord Rama), while Saif Ali Khan is playing Lankesh (Ravana) and Kriti Sanon is cast in the role of Janaki (Sita). Since the launch of the Adipurush teaser, there have been criticisms thrown at the film's team for its VFX stating the CGI is cartoonish in nature and not up to what had been promised.
The teaser credits slate show Prasad Sutar to be one of the producers and VFX supervisors of Adipurush, while also serving as the co-founder of NY VFXwaala, launched by Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn, who is the Founder and Chairman of the reputed VFX company. Post the release of the teaser, there were many on social media who were questioning the VFX giant over the CGI in the visuals, with the firm now issuing an official statement denying their role in the film. Popular trade analyst and Bollywood film critics Taran Adarsh took to Twitter on Monday, October 3, to post the note from NY VFXwaala, stating, "Leading VFX studio, NY VFXWaala has clarified that they have not worked/are not working on the CG/special effects of Adipurush. An official note on their behalf clarified, 'we are putting this on record because we have been asked by a few media people.' "
