Sarath Kumar is a legendary actor who has worked in over 70 films over the years. The star is now acting in significant supporting roles and recently played the role of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar in Mani Ratnam’s Magnum Opus Ponniyin Selvan. The actor was also a part of the film Rudhran featuring Raghava Lawrence and Custody which was directed by Venkat Prabhu. The upcoming film of the actor is titled Por Thozhil where he plays the role of an experienced cop in the thriller film. He is set to star alongside popular actor Ashok Selvan, who played an amateur cop. The trailer of the film is to launch tomorrow.

Ahead of the release of Por Thozhil, the actor gave an exclusive interview with National Award-winning critic Baradwaj Rangan, the editor-in-chief of Galatta Plus. When asked about any of his risky films, the actor said “All films are risky if you are an action hero. Now, it has become safe because there are ropes." When asked about an accident. The actor said “yes, it was the third film of Mahesh babu. I fell from 60ft and broke my C4 and C5 and they took my hip bone and fused it. C4 C5, spinal injury is not a normal injury and it won't be an overestimate if I say it was like a rebirth." He further said the he lost his right vocal cord in the incident and it won't function even now and was hospitalised for 7 months.

What happened was Kanal Kannan was the master and asked me to jump from the window and I refused, He said there was a huge crowd and said Prabhu Deva also jumped. so I jumped and my friends encouraged me.
