Poonam Pandey has allegedly been booked by Mumbai Police for violating the coronavirus-induced lockdown norms according to the reports. Some media houses even speculated that she was arrested which however was ruled out later by the actress herself.

Even an FIR was apparently registered against Pandey and a person accompanying her by the Marine Drive Police. She was found roaming in her high-end car at Marine Drive without any reason, the police official said. “A case has been registered against Pandey and Sam Ahmad Bombay (46) under sections 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of a disease dangerous to life) and 188 (Disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under provisions of the National Disaster Act,” senior police inspector Mrityunjay Hiremath told PTI.

Poonam Pandey clarified through a video that she has not been arrested but failed to comment about breaching lockdown rules. Her statement reads as follows: “Hey guess, I had a movie marathon last night, I watched three movies back to back and it was fun. I have been getting calls since last night that I have been arrested and I am also seeing this in the news as well. But there is nothing true about that, I am home and I am perfectly fine, love you all!”
