Actress Shraddha Srinath has established herself to be a talented performer over the years in South India with the choice of her roles she has undertaken. Tamil cinema fans remember her most for her power-packed performances in blockbusters like Vikram Vedha alongside Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi followed by last year's 'Thala' Ajith starrer, Nerkonda Paarvai. The Jersey actress, who earlier this year opened her own restaurant/cafe, Per Sé Chennai, at Phoenix MarketCity in Chennai, has now in a detailed rant on her Instagram story spoken about the depiction of middle class homes in cinema.
Shraddha Srinath's Instagram story reads as follows: "Why does cinema try to make middle class homes look so tasteful? Why does every character in our films have enough money and great aesthetics to make their spaces look so frame worthy? Why are we so afraid to show the middle class in its full authenticity?" She further added, "Why not display brightly coloured stuffed toys in the living room shelf? Some plastic trophies with decades of dust on it. Family photographs with a digitally printed background of a Japanese hanging garden at the back? A Wedding invitation that was too posh to throw away. Outdated furniture. Show me the real stuff buddy. You can't engineer authenticity." The popular actress also clarified in her next story that she was not referring to Malayalam cinema as the makers there get things right every time.
Last seen in the Telugu-language romantic comedy film, Krishna and His Leela, released on Netflix earlier this year, Shraddha's upcoming films in Tamil include Chakra alongside Vishal, which also stars Regina Cassandra and Srusthi Dange, followed by her reunion with her Vikram Vedha co-star, Madhavan, in Maara. She will also be seen in Rishab Shetty's Rudraprayaga, Kichcha Sudeep's Phantom and Godhraa in Kannada. Apart from the above-mentioned films, Shraddha lent a lot of strength by her appearances in films like Kaatru Veliyidai, Ivan Thanthiran, Richie, K- 13 in Tamil, Milan Talkies in Hindi and Jodi in Telugu.
