Ace director Selvaraghavan made a huge comeback to cinema after a gap of nearly six years with the political action drama film, NGK, which had Suriya, Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh in starring roles with chart-buster music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. With NGK released in theatres earlier this year, a film that many fans have been waiting for is the long-delayed Nenjam Marappathillai, which is the first time Selvaraghavan has forayed into the horror genre.
As known already, Nenjam Marappathillai has been a film that has left many in wonder in terms of its release getting postponed on several occasions after its production kicked off in early 2016 and filming subsequently wrapping up towards early 2017. That said, a glimmer of hope has now appeared as sources close to us have revealed that Nenjam Marapathillai could finally be hitting screens on December 27 as a New Year's treat. There are also speculations the film could make its way to theatres a couple of days earlier and possibly on December 25 on the festive occasion of Christmas. Considering a new poster for the film indicating its theatrical release was unveiled earlier this week, Nenjam Marappathillai hitting theatres as said on either of the two dates is highly likely and we now just have to wait for an official word from the makers.
Nenjam Marappathillai had massive expectations surrounding it after it was announced that blockbuster director turned actor SJ Suryah would be playing the lead role with Regina Cassandra and Nandita Swetha as the female leads under the Glo Studios banner. The excitement among fans shot up sky-high after it was revealed that Selvaraghavan would be teaming up with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja considering Pudhupettai was their last venture together at the time.
