A few weeks back, it was officially announced that Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph would be teaming up for a new thriller film titled 12th Man and the announcement made the fans super excited. The film was officially launched this morning (August 17) with a special pooja. The shooting of the film has also kickstarted from today and it looks like an interesting project is on cards. The pictures from the pooja launch event of 12th Man have been doing the rounds on social media since this morning. However, it looks like Mohanlal did not take part in the launch event. 12th Man will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. 12th Man will have music composed by Anil Johnson, while the editing will be taken care of by VS Vinayak.
Marking the festive occasion of Chingam, Malayalam New Year, 12th Man was officially launched today. Details regarding the star cast of the film are yet to be known, but we see actress Sshivada (of Nedunchalai and Adhe Kangal fame) in the pictures clicked at the pooja event. Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph have collaborated on two films earlier - Drishyam and Drishyam 2 and both the films have turned out to be blockbuster hits. It can be noted that Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph already have a film titled Ram which is halfway through.
Since Ram is a film that needs to be shot in foreign locations, the movie is currently put on hold. Ram features Trisha as the female lead. The duo of Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph is known for wrapping up films at a quick pace and we can expect 12th Man to be a quickie. Mohanlal's next release will be Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, the historical epic, directed by Priyadarshan. Marakkar has got huge expectations among the fans and it promises to be an exciting watch for the film buffs. Aaraattu, Bro Daddy, L2: Empuraan, are some of the other films in Mohanlal's upcoming lineup.
