Actress Mishti Chakravarty is known among Tamil cinema fans for starring in 2018 black comedy action thriller film, Semma Botha Aagathey, which was produced by Atharvaa, who also starred in the lead role. Having said that, Mishti Chakravarty's name has come under a lot of confusion after a few reports stated she had died due to kidney failure, which in reality was the cause of death of a fellow Bengali actress by the name of Mishti Mukherjee, who passed away on Friday in Bengaluru. Many had confused the late Mishti Mukherjee with Mishti Chakravarty, which the latter has now clarified on her Instagram page by using a screenshot of a report, while declaring it to be as fake news. She captioned her post as follows: "According to few #mediareports i died today by god’s #grace iam hale and hearty and have a long way to go guys ..... #fakenews"
Twenty seven year old Mishti Mukherjee died due to kidney failure owing to a keto diet she had adopted sometime back. Her last rites were performed on Saturday, following which a statement was issued in regard to her demise. The statement read as follows: "Actress Mishti Mukherjee who marked her brilliance in many films and music videos with her ace acting is no more. Due to keto diet, her kidney failed in Bangalore and she breathed her last on Friday night, the actress suffered a lot of pain. Unforgettable and unfortunate loss. May her soul rest in peace. She is survived by her parents and brother." The late Mishti Mukherjee had made her Bollywood debut in the 2012 film, Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi, alongside Ranvir Shorey.
On the other hand, Mishti Chakravarty made her Bollywood debut in iconic filmmaker Subhash Ghai's 2014 film Kaanchi: The Unbreakable, while also landing an important role in the Kangana Ranaut-starrer Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi in 2019. She also starred in the 2016 supernatural horror adult comedy Hindi film, Great Grand Masti, alongside Ritesh Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Urvashi Rautela, Sonali Raut, which turned out to be a box office success. She was last seen in the Telugu film Burra Katha opposite Aadi Saikumar.
