It has been one year since the official announcement of Thalapathy 64 - which is now Master. Yes! Exactly on this day, August 24, last year, the project was announced and it took everyone by great excitement. People were quite excited and kicked about the fact that Vijay decided to collaborate with a young gen filmmaker like Lokesh Kanagaraj and there has been no lookback since then. Having said that, Vijay’s manager and Master’s co-producer Jagadish took to his Twitter page to share his feelings about the film. He said that if not for the current pandemic, the film would’ve been released by now.

Jagadish indirectly confirmed that Master would be released only in the theatres after the pandemic. He tweeted, “Been an year since we announced #Master. Still could remember the nervousness I had while tweeting it. Months of fond memories and loads of brisk work. If not for Covid, the situation would have been totally different. Nevertheless, the celebrations awaits once things settle”. The last line of the tweet which states, ‘the celebrations awaits once things settle’ has excited the fans who have taken this line as a confirmation about the film’s theatrical release.

Master has got huge expectations among the fans and with such a huge market for Vijay, the makers would definitely want to have it as a theatrical release and let us hope that it happens soon. Theatre owners have also pinned high hopes on Master, believing that it will bring back the audience to the theatres after the pandemic. Going by the current updates, it is said that Master might most probably hit the screens for next year’s Pongal festival. However, it all depends on how soon we come out of the pandemic.

Produced by Xavier Britto under the banner of XB Film Creators, Master has music scored by Anirudh Ravichander who has delivered a chartbuster album already and notably, the songs have played an integral part in keeping the film in constant buzz and hype. Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the antagonist and he will be playing a ruthless cruel villain in this action drama. The face off between Vaathi and Bhavani is definitely going to be an exciting watch for the fans and the general audience.

The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Gouri Kishan, KPY Dheena, in supporting roles. For now, check out Jagadish’s tweet about Master announcement below:
