Maamannan is the last film of actor Udhayanidhi Stalin that was released in theatres on 29th June. It is helmed by director Mari Selvaraj and has 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu in an important role. Galatta Media organised a special fans meet for the filmmaker and in the star-studded event, actor Udhayanidhi Stalin arrived. The director and actor duo spoke about the film and spilled some interesting details about the film. When the anchor Suhasini Maniratnam asked what was the reaction of 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan after watching the film. He said, “Watching the film with Kamal sir was a great experience”.
Mari Selvaraj then explained that only Himself and Kamal Haasan were there and that they had not even added music A.R.Rahman's music and the version that Ulaganayan saw only had a reference music. The director said he saw the whole film with no interval and without blinking, for 2.3 hours. The director then said the first words that Vikram actor shared was “I like it very much”. He said the veteran actor then spoke emotionally with Maamannan director and Udhayanidhi Stalin and he said the most memorable comment that he liked was that “he (Kamal Haasan) said 'I had thought of doing something like this with Vadivelu sir, titled Thalaivan Irukkiran (Thalaivan Irukkindran), but, I couldn’t do it. You have done it. I wanted to do a huge film with the Vadivelu character but you have made it."
The director Mari Selvaraj and Udhayanidhi Stalin shared a post and thanked the veteran actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan for being a part of the audio launch and supporting the film. The actor has also shared that the film added strength to his opinion of equality. Apart from Udhayanidhi Stalin and 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu the film also has Keerthy Suresh and Fahad Faasil in important roles and has music composed by A.R. Rahman.
