National Award-winning actress Manju Warrier played a powerful role in Ajith Kumar's latest box office blockbuster Thunivu, which was released earlier this week in theatres worldwide as a grand Pongal treat, and has taken a sensational opening. The Malayalam actress featured in several intense action scenes in the mass heist entertainer, including a jet ski sequence, which she had to learn to operate in quick time while filming. In an exclusive interview with Galatta, Manju Warrier opened up on the making of the action scene, while also narrating the entire experience of shooting Thunivu alongside Ajith and under H. Vinoth's direction.

Manju Warrier explained, "I learned jet skiing just before the shot. I had to learn quickly in 5-10 minutes because we were being told about how the light was fading. In such a situation where you have no other way, you just close your eyes and do it, and go for it. That is what I did exactly. I didn't think about anything else because I was strapped to a life jacket (and followed all the necessary precautions). So, I just told myself, 'I'll face whatever comes my way', and went for it. Even while riding the boat, I didn't know how to and they taught me before the shot, and I just went for it. No other explanation." She added, "To put on a confident face, when we do something we don't know, we sometimes act like we know everything, and that's quite difficult. But, the team was amazing, including Ajith sir and the director (H. Vinoth), everyone... Be it in Asuran or in this film (Thunivu), I feel fortunate and I was lucky enough to be able to work with such an amazing team."
