Mangalya Dhosham is a popular Tamil television serial that is being aired on Colors Tamil. The serial, which has got a good reception from the people of Tamil Nadu, has crossed 100 episodes recently. The serial features Keerthi Vijay, Lakshmipriya, Arun Padmanabhan, Ravi Tej, Raveena Daha, Egavalli, KS Suchitra in the star cast. It has now been revealed that the makers have changed the serial’s name from Mangalya Dhosham to Mangalya Sandhosham. The reason behind the change is not known, but it indeed gives a positive touch to the serial. The fans can now watch the serial as Mangalya Sandhosham.
The serial’s story is about Tarun (played by Arun Padmadabhan), a doctor by profession, who believes in putting his education to good use, saving lives rather than paying heed to superstitions. Bold and outspoken, he manages to stand by his own beliefs, without upsetting the religious sentiments of his parents and sister whom he’s fond of. Nithyashree (played by Lakshmi Priya) is a simple, yet beautiful girl-next-door who teaches Bharatnatyam to children. She is strongly rooted to the shastras, vedas and puranas, narrated to her by her grandmother when she was a child. Though a perfect girl in every sense, Nithya faces tussles in her marriage simply because she has ‘Chevvai Dosham’.
The story progresses with Nithya who marries Tarun and faces all the obstacles that life throws at them. But there is more…The narrative enters a crucial phase when Nithya jeopardises the life of her unborn child to save her husband.
On essaying the role of Tarun, Arun Padmanaban said, “Kathir (from Malar) was one of my favourite characters in my entire career. Mangalya Dhosham may well be even better than that. My character is a well-educated person who takes on people who thrive on the whole idea of ‘Chevvai Dosham’. I know I will be proud of this character when I look back at my life. After Malar, I am very happy to be associated with COLORS Tamil once again with this show.” Mangalya Sandhosham is being aired from Monday to Friday on Colors Tamil at 9 PM.
