Recently, a section of media reported that Master sensation Malavika Mohanan has been signed to play one of the female leads in Salman Khan's upcoming Bollywood drama, Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali which is directed by Farhad Samji, featuring Shehnaaz Gill, Venkatesh Daggubati, and Pooja Hegde as the other leads. However, the news has now turned out to be false. Earlier today (May 26), Malavika Mohanan took to her official Twitter page to make an important clarification about the project. She made it clear that she is not a part of the film.
Malavika's clarification tweet read, "False article. Not true :) Putting it out here as a lot of people have been asking me if I’m doing this". Malavika Mohanan was last seen in Dhanush's Maaran which opened to negative reviews from the critics and general audience. Maaran, directed by Karthick Naren, had a direct OTT release on the Disney Hotstar platform. Malavika tasted big success with Thalapathy Vijay's Master which emerged as a blockbuster hit at the box office. Malavika Mohanan made her Tamil debut with Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta helmed by Karthik Subbaraj.
Malavika is currently shooting for her next film, Yudhra which features Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boy and Gehraiyaan fame. Siddhant and Malavika will be sharing screen space together for the first time with this action thriller which is helmed by Ravi Udyawar. Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment will be bankrolling this project which is slated to release in the second half of this year. Malavika Mohanan is also a part of various other projects which are expected to be formally announced in the days to come.
