Madhavan has garnered a reputation over the course of his career for being an astute performer having worked alongside acclaimed filmmakers and towering stars. Maddy, as he is lovingly called by fans, was last seen in Maara and once again gained appreciation from all corners for his performance in the romantic drama film, which came out as a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. Madhavan, who is currently awaiting the release of the upcoming highly-ambitious film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, has now denied rumors stating that he will be reuniting with director Lingusamy for a bilingual project featuring leading Telugu actor Ram Pothineni.
Taking to social media on Saturday, Madhavan issued a statement clarifying that he would love to collaborate with Lingusamy, but added that there was no truth to the rumors that had spawned claiming that he was cast as the antagonist in the director's next Telugu-Tamil feature. Madhavan tweeted, "Would so love to work with @dirlingusamy and recreate the magic cause he is such a wonderful, loving man too… unfortunately no truth in the news doing the rounds recently, of us doing a telugu film together with en as an antagonist." Fans will know that both Madhavan and Lingusamy enjoy a successful partnership as their previous collaborations - Run (2002) and Vettai (2012) - went on to become massive box office hits.

As for his Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, the film is a multilingual biopic shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, and English and will also be released in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) who was accused of espionage, Rocketry also marks the directorial debut of Madhavan, with the film's also cast seeing him reuniting with Simran after their Kannathil Muthamittal in 2002.
