Mari Selvaraj is an acclaimed film director who made his debut with the path-breaking film Pariyerum Perumal and his next film Karnan was also a huge hit. The upcoming film by the director in line is titled Maamannan and has Udhayanidhi Stalin and popular comedian 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu in pivotal roles. A poster and pictures from the film created huge excitement among fans and Movie Buffs. As the film is to have music by Oscar Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman, he announced that the first single from the film will be released today. Now the makers have released the first single for the film Titled Raasa Kannu, that is sung by the Veteran comedian Vadivelu.
The song Raasa Kannu from Maamannan has lyrics written by Yuga Bharathi. A.R. Rahman has surprised his fans with the song that left the listeners in a trance. The song video is shown entirely in black and white and begins with a shot that shows a group of boys playing at the top of a mountain. The video then shows the making video of the song and some visuals of the Parai (a percussion instrument) and other instruments being played. It also shows a person wearing a three-heading mask with a kid which could represent a small deity like in Mari Selvaraj’s previous film Karnan. The video then ends shows Udhayanidhi Stalin dancing and a shot of him on a cliff holding a sword while the pit below him burns. The slow-paced folk song will surely be one of the favourite of fans as 'Isaipuyal' has collaborated with the comedian Vadivelu for the first time and it is enchanting.

It is said to be the last film of Udayanidhi Stalin as an actor as he is a Tamil Nadu assembly minister.
