During the #AskDirLokesh Twitter AMA session, a social media user congratulated the blockbuster filmmaker for his work, while also dropping in a query asking him if there was anything he thought could have been made better in the film. The Master director revealed that the Visual Effects (VfX) in Vikram would have been better if he had more time. Lokesh Kanagaraj tweeted, "If I had more time the vfx would've been better 𧡠#AskDirLokesh". Vikram in its entirety has been praised for the manner it has been picturized, with a few key sequences highlighting the use of VFX, while there has also been appreciation for the story, screenplay, performances, and music as well.

Vikram is a spin-off of Kamal Haasan's Vikram released in 1986 and has the iconic actor reprising his role once again from the original film. Lokesh Kanagaraj has been basking in the glory of the film's success, with many complimenting him for bringing back the character after 36 years, while also setting up his own film universe by connecting it with his 2019 directorial Kaithi, starring Karthi. With Vikram ending on a high note showing Suriya being introduced as the character Rolex and the kingpin of the drug cartel, it will be interesting to see him squaring off with Kamal Haasan in Vikram 3, which is expected to head for production in the future.
