National Award-winning actor Suriya's next big film, Kanguva, is currently one of the biggest and most-awaited films among Tamil cinema fans and is being planned for a grand theatrical release in 2024. Announced to come out in 3D in 10 languages, the upcoming film's title has been a highly-debated topic on social media ever since it was revealed in April. The title announcement video, although did not show Suriya, has gone on to receive a stunning response, with thee actor's character described as "a Man with Power of Fire & the Saga of a Mighty Valiant Hero". In that light, popular producer-distributor Dr. Dhananjayan Govind recently sat down with Galatta in an exclusive interview to talk about the film and the choice of Kanguva as the title.
With a majority of the talk surrounding Kanguva as the film's title, Dhananjayan explained, "The decision was made by Suriya sir and Siva sir. What they decided was, the film should have a universal title. The title should hold a value in all the languages the film will be releasing in. It should be a title that can be understood. Once they decided it, Gnanavel Raja sir also liked it and they went ahead." Speaking about the film's scale and scope, he added, "There are many big aspects. Be it the warfare or the making, and the depiction of the past, the team has captured it all superbly."
Jointly produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green and Vamsi-Pramod's UV Creations banners, Kanguva being directed by Siva will see Suriya in a completely new avatar as teased in the title announcement and film launch videos. The film has Bollywood sensation Disha Patani making her Tamil cinema debut and composer Devi Sri Prasad is once again expected to come out with a chart-topping album for Suriya after delivering hit songs in Mayavi, Aaru, Singam, and Singam 2.
