Kamal Haasan is one of the top-tier actors in the Tamil film industry who is known across India. The recent release of the famous personality was Vikram, which became a huge hit and his next film Indian 2 is in the final stages of shooting. The actor turned politician was recently in the UAE. While in the country, he also visited the Firdous Orchestra in the Expo City Dubai, an all-women orchestra that was mentored by A.R. Rahman. In Abu Dhabi, The actor addressed the press and media. When asked about his views on the controversial film The Kerala Story, Kamal Haasan said “I told you, It’s a propagandist film that I am against. It's not enough if you write ‘true story’ at the bottom as a logo. It has to really be true and that is not true”.
This comment by the actor-turned-politician have become viral on social media as the film The Kerala Story has been the topic of discussion. The film sparked controversy as the trailer of the film shows three women who are being lured into converting to Islam and are being recruited by the Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS). It was first released with the tag that it is based on a true story of over 32,000 women, due to protests and outcry, it was then changed to three women. The film features Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balami and Siddhi Idnani in lead roles and has collected over Rs.200 crores at the box office. It's directed by Sudipto Sen.
