Vijay Sethupathi and Aishwarya Rajesh would be coming together for the fourth time with Ka Pae Ranasingam which is all set to premiere from tonight. This is a preview article that would talk about the pre-release buzz and the expectations on the film. The film’s teaser was released during the initial months of lockdown and it got a very good reception from the fans. Aishwarya Rajesh’s fiery performance was the major attraction of the teaser and it set the right kind of mood among the audience. The teaser left an impact and told the audience that it is not going to be just another rural socio-political drama. The film has got some hard hitting dialogues (by Shanmugam Muthusamy) that would be related by the masses.
Vijay Sethupathi is said to have a screen time of around 1 hour and the entire film revolves around him. Makkal Selvan looks to be in his natural best. GV Prakash’s younger sister Bhavani Sre will be making her debut as an actor with this film and let us hope that the film turns out to be a memorable start for her. As far as the content is concerned, Ka Pae Ranasingam definitely sounds promising and strong and we can expect it to create an impact on the lines of Nayanthara’s Aramm.
However, the real challenge for the makers come here - Zee Plex release. Ka Pae Ranasingam is the first Tamil film to have opted for a pay per view model and the fans will have to pay an amount of Rs 199 for a single watch on the Zee Plex platform. One has to admit that Zee 5 has not made enough promotions for making Zee Plex a visible platform, especially in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil audience have slowly started to adapt to the annual subscription plans that are common in platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, Zee 5, etc, but this new idea of Zee Plex is a challenge and we will have to see how the film performs. This is the only aspect that needs to be looked at before the release and leaving this out, Ka Pae Ranasingam shows good intent as a film.
You can expect the film’s review on Galatta’s website in a few hours after the film’s release. Talking about Ka Pae Ranasingam’s team, the film is directed by debutant P Virumandi and produced by KJR Studios. The music is scored by Ghibran who is known for his impactful scores in films like Uttama Villain, Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Aramm, Ratsasan and more. NK Ekhambaram has handled the cinematography, while Shivanandeeswaran has taken care of the edit. Let us keep our fingers crossed and wait for a few more hours to know how good Ka Pae Ranasingam is. Stay tuned.
