A film that has been creating a lot of buzz right from the moment of its announcement, blockbuster filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X has SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence playing the lead roles, with an exciting glimpse released last year. On Tuesday, January 17, SJ Suryah tweeted from the film's sets saying that the team of the upcoming venture has wrapped up the first schedule after shooting for 36 days. Sharing photos alongside his co-star Raghava Lawrence from the shooting spot and showering praises on the team of Jigarthanda Double X, SJ Suryah wrote on Twitter, "36 days ek dham ore schedule #JigarthandaDoubleX what a schedule, what a concept, what a set , what a photography, what a expense, what a production value thx a lot for this opportunity @karthiksubbaraj sir &what a man @offl_Lawrence (aruhil nan partha Arputha Ullam)."
Expectations for Jigarthanda Double X shot up after the team released an action-packed glimpse featuring both SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence in the backdrop of rocky mountains, with the early visuals reminding fans of the films from the Western genre. The teaser presented Lawrence as a gun-slinging cowboy taking on several men, who appeared to be a part of SJ Suryah's battalion, with composer Santhosh Narayanan's music elevating the entire sequence. Jigarthanda Double X is said to be a follow-up sequel to Karthik Subbaraj's 2014 box office money-spinner Jigarthanda, which starred Siddharth and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles, with Bobby Simha earning the National Award for Best Supporting Actor, while Vivek Harshan took home the Best Editor accolade.
No other names have been revealed to be a part of the Jigarthanda Double X star cast apart from SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence at this point, while the technical team includes S Thirunavukkarasu and Shafique Mohamed Ali for the cinematography and editing, respectively. The film's production designer is T Santanam, and art direction is done by Balasubramanian, while the costume designs are by Praveen Raja, with Dhilip Subbarayan handling the stunt choreography and Kunal Rajan in charge of the sound design.
