National Award-winning Tamil actor Suriya extended his heartfelt wishes to his younger brother Karthi on the release of his landmark 25th film, Japan, in theatres worldwide ahead of Diwali. The Soorarai Pottru (2020) star took to social media on Friday, November 10, and shared his hopes for the film to be a memorable outing for his sibling. "Let this special 25 be the one that reaches millions of hearts and may you stay in them forever Dearest Thambi @Karthi_Offl Win it big time #Japan and team!" (sic), Suriya wrote on X congratulating the Ponniyin Selvan star while sharing the release posters of his latest film directed by Raju Murugan of Cuckoo (2014), Joker (2016), and Gypsy (2020) fame.
Suriya's latest words of affirmation and love for Karthi show the special bond Tamil cinema's favorite siblings share for each other after the duo shared the stage at the star-studded Japan audio launch ceremony held in Chennai in October. The Jai Bhim (2021) star had noted his brother's growth and rise in Tamil cinema from the days of Paruthiveeran (2007), which was flagged off by 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan, with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth blessing him saying that he made use of the opportunity presented to him in all the bestways possible. During his speech at the Japan audio launch, Suriya also cited celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam, acclaimed director Ameer, and hit producer K. E. Gnanavel Raja for playing mentors to Karthi in the Tamil film industry.
With Suriya sharing his wishes to Karthi for Japan to become a major box-office success, fans have once again expressed their hope to witness the duo on the big screen as Dilli and Rolex in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Considering blockbuster director Lokesh Kanagaraj has often stated that both the actors' characters will meet at one point in the future, the excitement among fans keeps getting bigger by the day. Japan has Karthi paired with Anu Emmanuel, while the supporting cast includes K. S. Ravikumar, Sunil, Vijay Milton, and Vagai Chandrasekhar, among others, and features music composed by National Award winner G. V. Prakash Kumar. Suriya, on the other hand, is currently busy filming the highly-anticipated Kanguva under Siva's direction and is set to begin production work on the tentatively titled Suriya 43 with filmmaker Sudha Kongara once again after their Soorarai Pottru. He also has Vaadivaasal with National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran, which is based on Tamil writer C. S. Chellapa's novel of the same name.
