Late actress Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor made her silver screen debut with Dhadak, in which she shared screen space with Ishaan Khatter. The budding actress’ next film would be Gunjan Saxena, the biopic of the first Indian woman air force pilot who entered the Kargil War Zone in 1999. Directed by Sharan Sharma, Gunjan Saxena features Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ayesha Raza and Manav Vij in prominent roles. The film which was initially scheduled to hit the screens on April 24, will now have a direct OTT release on Netflix.
Gunjan Saxena will stream on Netflix from the 12th of August and ahead of the release, the makers have now unveiled the trailer of the film. This trailer looks quite promising and is packed with some real intense moments. The trailer traces the journey of Gunjan Saxena since her childhood when she first wanted to become an air force pilot. The trailer has got some neat feel-good moments in the initial part and shifts towards some serious situations in the latter part. Janhvi’s performance looks intense and very promising and it looks like this film will be an important outing in her filmography.
Pankaj Tripathi garners attention in this trailer and he seems to have got a very interesting character that will have significant importance. The trailer also shows us a glimpse of how Gunjan Saxena was discriminated against for her gender and we will see how she defeats all the odds on August 12. The film has been shot on a grand scale and it is evident through the shots that we see in the trailer.

Cinematography for this film is handled by R Dee, while the editing is taken care of by Aarif Sheikh. This film is expected to give the breakthrough for Janhvi and it is indeed going to be interesting to see how she has performed in the war and action sequences.
