The wait has come to an end as the much-awaited Iraivan trailer is now out and gives us a glimpse of the intense drama that awaits audiences in theatres starting September 28. The upcoming psychological thriller film directed by Endrendrum Punnagai (2013) and Manithan (2016) fame I. Ahmed revolves around a cat-and-mouse chase between a cop named Arjun played by Jayam Ravi and Rahul Bose, who is a serial killer going by the name Brahma, as shown in the first visuals in the trailer released. Featuring music by celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, the Iraivan trailer includes several high moments leaving us wanting more of the action in store in cinemas later this month.
The Iraivan trailer starts off introducing Rahul Bose as Brahma, who is in custody after murdering 12 young girls, with the scenes then shifting to bringing to the fore Jayam Ravi as Arjun delivering justice in his own way. There are a number of high-octane action moments in this latest glimpse, with Ashish Vidyarthi, Naren, Bucks, Azhagam Perumal, and Vijayalakshmi forming the rest of the ensemble star cast. The Iraivan trailer also shows the romance between Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara and is a reunion for the duo on the big screen after their Thani Oruvan (2015). The visuals then show the hunt for Brahma after he makes his escape, who goes on a killing spree, with Arjun in pursuit.
Iraivan has the potential of being an edge-of-the-seat thriller and it now remains to be seen how director I. Ahmed has adapted the story for the big screen. The film produced by Sudhan Sundaram & Jayaram. G's Passion Studios banner also includes a highly-talented technical team onboard starting with cinematographer Hari. K. Vedanth, editor JV Manikanda Balaji, production designer Jackie, with the stunt choreography done by Don Ashok. It is to be noted that Iraivan is also set to be a precursor for both Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara before their Thani Oruvan 2, which is scheduled to roll into production in 2024.
