HBO Max has released the first teaser for House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel, which will be arriving in 2022. Although the visuals don't reveal much, we do get a look at the Targaryen family members, who will be forming the core crux of the show. The voiceover in the House of the Dragon teaser starts off as, "Gods, kings, fire, and blood. Dreams didn't make us kings – dragons did." We also see the iconic Iron Throne being revealed along with combats, sword fights, including the hint of a dragon.

House of the Dragon is set around 200 years before Game of Thrones and will focus on the story of House Targaryen, the rulers of Westeros before Robert Barratheon ascended to the throne, and thus kicking off the events as witnessed in the Game of Thrones. The upcoming show, which doesn't yet have a premiere date in 2022, includes a star-studded cast featuring names like Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower. Created by George R. R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal, House of the Dragon will air on HBO and stream on HBO Max.

The first look images of the House of the Dragon main cast members were released sometime back and received a huge response from fans, who are waiting with bated breath for the Game of Thrones prequel. House of the Dragon, which is part of a wider deal between HBO and author George R.R. Martin, is one among the several shows set in the Game of Thrones universe. HBO is currently developing several live-action series, including a number of animated spin-offs in the franchise.
