'Superstar' Rajinikanth extended his "hearty wishes" to Bollywood star Tiger Shroff on the release of his new film, Ganapath: A Hero Is Born, on Friday, October 20. The iconic Tamil actor took to social media today and shared his wishes to the Hindi star and the entire crew of his latest film hoping for its grand success. Tagging both Tiger Shroff and his father Jackie Shroff, Rajinikanth wrote on X, "My hearty wishes to @iTIGERSHROFF and the entire cast and crew of #Ganapath. All the very best to you and wishing the film a grand success. #tigershroff #ganapath #jackieshroff @bindasbhidu" (sic)
A short while after Rajinikanth shared his post, Tiger Shroff responded with a big thank you, while adding that he had the utmost respect for the leading Tamil actor. The War hero said, "Highest respect and loads of love Sir, Thank you so much for your generous words it means the world to us especially me. Thank you so much sir once again lots of love and respect ♥ï¸ðð»" (sic) Ganapath: A Hero Is Born has Tiger Shroff cast opposite Bollywood sensation Kriti Sanon, who recently bagged the Best Actress award at the 69th National Film Awards for her performance in the film, Mimi (2021), with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Elli AvrRam, Rahman, Jameel Khan, Girish Kulkarni, Shruthy Menon, Ziad Bakri, among others cast in pivotal roles. Releasing as a pan-Indian film in theatres worldwide starting today, Ganapath: A Hero Is Born directed by Vikas Bahl is billed to be a dystopian sports action film and is coming out in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
On the other hand, Rajinikanth's last film, Jailer, saw the actor sharing screen space with Tiger Shroff's father Jackie Shroff, who made a crucial appearance. The mass action drama directed by Nelson Dilipkumar went on to become a phenomenal box office success grossing more than 500 crores in worldwide collections. Rajinikanth is currently filming his next big project, the tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, under Jai Bhim fame T. J. Gnanavel's direction, which will feature songs and a background score composed by Anirudh Ravichander. After wrapping up Thalaivar 170, Rajinikanth will join hands with Leo director Lokesh Kanagaraj for their Thalaivar 171, which also will include music by Anirudh and is expected to roll into production in 2024.
