Director Vetri Maaran is one of the leading and path-breaking filmmakers of the Tamil film industry who has won National Awards for many of his films. He has helmed multiple project including Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Visaranai, Vada Chennai, Asuran and his latest film was Viduthalai Part: 1. Vada Chennai was a hit film that has got critical acclaim and the filmmaker has revealed an interesting detail about the film.
Ahead of the release of Viduthalai Part: 1 in Telugu as Viduthala Part: 1, the cast of the crew spoke in a press meet. As a reporter asked if Vetri Maaran is thinking of any collaboration with a Telugu actor. The director said “Actually, after Aadukalam I came and met Allu Arjun. he met me in Chennai too and said 'Sir, I want to come to Tamil, if you are interested, tell me a story'. I told him Vada Chennai. There was one role that was a very powerful role, and now I have rewritten it. The film that is there is not what I had in mind those days. There was another character I told him about, it was a nice character. I came to Hyderabad to their (Allu Aravind) office and we spoke."
Vada Chennai was a hit film that was released in 2018 that had Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajesh, Andrea Jeremiah, Kishore, Samuthirakani, Daniel Balaji, Ameer and others in important roles. The film was a cult-classic and ends with a opening for the second part of the film. Vada Chennai: Anbuvin Ezhuchi has a huge excitement among fans but the project has not gone on floors yet. Recently, during an event, The director Vetri Maaran confirmed that the second part is in works. The director has now revealed there was another version of Vada Chennai Part 1 in which Allu Arjun was set to paly a powerful role. Viduthalai Part: 2 is also in works, with filming almost over, and is set to be released by this year.
