Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam is set for its grand theatrical release on August 18, coming Thursday, and we are just a few days away from witnessing the film on the big screens. Dhanush is having a theatrical release after a long gap of 1.5 years and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the d-day. Considering the positive pre-release buzz surrounding the movie, one can surely hope the film to crack a solid opening at the box office. Ahead of the release, the makers have now released a new promo and this looks impressive and piques our curiosity. The promo has a mix of all the elements that would be needed to connect with the masses.
We see a glimpse of Dhanush's relationship with Priya Bhavani Shankar, Raashi Khanna, Nithya Menen, and Bharathiraja in this promo and it looks like a heartwarming slice of life drama is on its way. Thiruchitrambalam features Dhanush playing the titular character and Nithya Menen plays Shobana, his best friend who acts as a solid support system to him. Bharathiraja plays Dhanush's grandfather while Prakash Raj will be seen as the father. Priya Bhavani Shankar and Raashi Khanna play Thiruchitrambalam's love interests.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander whose songs have managed to strike a chord with the audiences, with especially 'Thaai Kelavi' and 'Megham Karukkatha' becoming massive hits. The classic DnA combo returned after a hiatus with Thiruchitrambalam and all eyes are now on the rockstar composer's background score. Om Prakash has handled the cinematography while the editing is taken care of by GK Prasanna. Thiruchitrambalam has cleared the censor process with a U/A certificate.
The film will also have a dubbed release in Telugu and the Telugu version of the film is called Thiru. Following Thiruchitrambalam, Dhanush will be seen in Naane Varuven which is directed by his brother and acclaimed filmmaker Selvaraghavan.
