Netflix's next grand venture, The Gray Man, has wrapped filming, Avengers: Endgame fame The Russo brothers announced on Friday. An adaptation of Mark Greaney's debut novel of the same name, the upcoming action thriller is the next from Anthony and Joe Russo, who became the biggest names in Hollywood after their works in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which includes Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The announcement of The Gray Man’s shooting coming to an end was confirmed on Instagram with a set photo of Joe Russo in front of a camera, while the Russo's production company AGBO shared a video showing the crew celebrating the production wrap up.
According to reports, The Gray Man has been a project the Russo brothers had been planning since 2014, which went into production only in 2020 with Netflix. The film stars Hollywood superstars Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles as dueling assassins. The Gray Man will also feature Tamil superstar Dhanush in an important role, who is reportedly playing the head of one of the teams that is after Gosling, who has been cast in the role of Court Gentry, a former CIA operative turned freelance assassin, while Evans has been cast as a hitman named Lloyd Hansen.
The Gray Man is one of Netflix's most prestigious projects as it includes an incredible supporting cast, with the leading streaming service set to make it a priority venture to be promoted ahead of its premiere. The film also includes Knives Out fame Ana de Armas, The Matrix 4's Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Billy Bob Thornton, Indian actress Aishwarya Sonar, Alfre Woodard, Bridgerton's Rege-Jean Page, Julia Butters and Eme Ikwuakor among others. As of now, there's no release date for The Gray Man considering post-production works will take a few months to complete and we can expect the film to premiere sometime in 2022.
