Blockbuster production banner Sathya Jyothi Films has released a short glimpse of their next film with two-time National Award-winning actor Dhanush to be directed by Rocky and Saani Kaayidham fame Arun Matheswaran on Saturday. Touted to be an intense action film, the upcoming venture's title has been announced to be Captain Miller and will be coming out in theatres as a grand summer 2023 release. Production on Captain Miller is yet to kick-off and the project has been riding on massive hype ever since Dhanush revealed that he would be collaborating with director Arun Matheswaran next.

Captain Miller will feature music by chart-buster composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, who has once again boarded a Dhanush venture after delivering hits in films like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, and Maaran. The title of the film had first come to the limelight back in April this year at the Dakshin South India Media & Entertainment Summit when an official quote from a booklet stated the following: "We are currently working on pre-production for our next magnum opus titled Captain Miller which will be a pan-India release for Mr. Dhanush. The film is directed by Arun Matheswaran. Set in the 1930s, Captain Miller is a big action-adventure."

Being presented by TG Thyagaran and produced by Sendhil Thyagaran and Arjun Thyagaran, Captain Miller's technical crew includes names like Shreyaas Krishna and Nagooran for the cinematography and editing, respectively. The period film being co-produced by G. Saravanan and Sai Siddharth also has art director Tha. Ramalingam and action choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan, followed by costume designs by Poornima Ramaswamy and Kavya Sriram, and lyrics by Madhan Karky.
