Maaran will be Dhanush's next release in Tamil cinema and the fans have pinned high hopes on the project. Maaran, as already known, will have a direct OTT release on the Disney Hotstar platform and it will be Dhanush's third direct digital release film after Jagame Thandhiram and Atrangi Re. Produced by TG Thyagarajan under the banner of Sathya Jyothi Films, Maaran has Master fame Malavika Mohanan playing the female lead, with Smruthi Venkat, Samuthirakani, Master Mahendran, KK, itis Prashanth, forming the supporting cast. The film is set to release in the mid of March and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the D-Day.
With that said, the makers have now got an exclusive Twitter emoji for Maaran and this development has come as a pleasant surprise for the fans. The Maaran emoji has a picture of Dhanush from the film and the emoji will be available for the following hashtags - #Maaran, #MaaranOnHotstar, #MaaranTrailer, #மாறனà¯. The Twitter emoji has been activated and will be in effect until May 26, three months from now. This campaign will indeed give the Dhanush starrer a better mileage on social media. Maaran has become the 9th Tamil film to get the Twitter emoji.
Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal was the first ever film to tap that zone, and it was followed by movies like Kaala, NGK, Bigil, Darbar, Soorarai Pottru, Master, and Jagame Thandhiram. All these films have got solid traction on social media following the activation of Twitter emoji and we can expect that to happen with Maaran as well. Maaran is directed by the young and promising Karthick Naren. The film will have Dhanush playing the role of an investigative journalist. GV Prakash has composed music for this film.
Apart from Maaran, Dhanush has a few more interesting projects in his pipeline and it includes Naane Varuven, The Gray Man, and an untitled film each with directors Arun Matheswaran, Ram Kumar, and Mari Selvaraj.
