One of the biggest hits of this year is Asuran, which marked the fourth time collaboration between Dhanush and Vettrimaaran, after their earlier blockbusters in Polladhavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai. This movie, which hit the screens on October 4th, has vaulted Dhanush into the Rs. 100 Crores club, after just ten days of release. Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under his V Creations banner, Asuran has music by GV Prakash and cinematography by Velraj with editing by R Ramar. Today, the makers released the 'Polladha Bhoomi' video song from the movie.
At a runtime of 2 minutes and 43 seconds, the song features Dhanush, Ken Karunas and Teejay. Dhanush as the aged Sivasami, has done a brilliant job not just in the movie but in this song too. Composed by GV Prakash and for lyrics penned by Yugabharathi, the 'Polladha Bhoomi' song has been sung by Dhanush, GV Prakash, Ken Karunas and Teejay! Asuran got unanimously positive reviews from all quarters and is considered to be one of the best movies of this year, so far.
Asuran marked the acting debut of director Balaji Sakthivel. Manju Warrier debuted in Tamil cinema, playing the female lead alongside Dhanush in Asuran. The cast included Ken Karunas, Teejay Arunasalam, Pasupathy, Prakash Raj, Ammu Abhirami, Subramaniam Siva, Pawan and Aadukalam Naren among others. Asuran is based on the novel Vekkai, by writer Poomani.
