Chiyaan Vikram's Mahaan which released earlier this year opened to fairly positive reviews from the critics and general audience. The film managed to gain a great amount of viewership on Amazon Prime Video, the platform on which it released. Mahaan featured Chiyaan Vikram coming together with his son Dhruv Vikram for the first time and the duo's strong performances were one of the highlights. Mahaan follows the life story of Gandhi Mahaan from his early 40s to becoming the Kingpin of the alcohol industry in India. Mahaan is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and had music composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
Produced by Seven Screen Studio, the film featured Simran as the female lead, while Bobby Simha, Muthukumar, Sananth, Deepak Paramesh, and others in pivotal roles. With cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna and editing by Vivek Harshan, the film had stunts choreographed by Dhilip Subbarayan. 100 days after the film's release, the makers have now released the deleted scenes as a new video which has grabbed the attention of the film buffs. Vani Bhojan was signed to play a crucial role in the film, but her portions, unfortunately, got chopped off in the final version since the team could not complete filming her scenes due to the Covid 19 restrictions.
