The fate of the entire world changed overnight in the past few days as we continue to grapple with the deadly coronavirus pandemic, which has led to the loss of life in thousands with millions more affected by the dreaded disease. The United States too has seen a rise in the number of COVID-19 cases with the superpower nation currently recording the most number of people affected by the disease in the world. With social distancing the need of the hour, the US government had informed its citizens to adhere to it to avoid getting affected or play a role in the spread of the disease. However, people haven't taken social distancing seriously with pictures of many thronging the beaches in California and Florida trending on social media in quick time despite orders from the respective state authorities to disperse. Among the many who were left displeased with these developments was actor Sebastian Stan, known for playing Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in Marvel Studios' Captain America and Avengers films. All set to be seen next on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier show on the Disney+ streaming network, Sebastian didn't hide his frustration upon seeing the photos of the people venturing out at a time when social distancing had been advised.
Speaking about the attitude and approach of the people towards the COVID-19 virus, Sebastian Stan said, "There was a meme going around which really kind of put me in my place which was like 'Your grandparents went to war, and you're being asked to sit on a couch.' Like, get the f**k with it. I talked to a couple friends who are in the workforce like cops out there sleeping in their garages, working 20 hours a day; nurses coming home and not being able to hold their children because they're afraid they're going to contaminate their families, then going back to work."
Sebastian continued saying, "You hear that stuff and it blows my mind because it makes me feel like I have such privilege to be able to sit around here while these people are beating themselves. But what makes me insane is seeing that the beaches in f**ing Miami are still flooded with these f*ing idiots. Dude, they're dumb f**s and it pisses me off and it really makes me insane because that's actually the problem right there. We gotta remember our grandparents and parents have survived way worse and we can do out part here."
As for Marvel's new Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Stan Sebastian had only a few days back told in an interview that no real timetable has been fixed yet on when he and the rest of the cast and crew will return to finish work on the six episode series due to the coronavirus pandemic. The series will take place after the events of the 2019 film, Avengers: Endgame and is set in the ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
