In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away this morning (April 29) after failing to respond to the medical treatments. The ace actor was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, last night (April 28), after getting diagnosed with Colon infection and was under medication for the same. He was declared dead this morning by the doctors. He was 54 years old when he breathed his last. Irrfan Khan already has a history of fighting against neuroendocrine tumour, a type of cancer, for the past two years.
His death has taken the entire nation by shock and it is indeed a huge loss for the Indian film industry. Irrfan’s friend and popular film director Shoojir Sircar took to his Twitter space to share his condolence message. He tweeted, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute”.
It can be recalled that Irrfan’s mother, Saeda Begum passed away recently, and Irrfan wasn’t able to attend the funeral due to the nation-wide lockdown. Irrfan Khan is a proven actor who is known for his works in films like Salaam Bombay!, The Lunchbox, Haider, Gunday, Piku, Hindi Medium, Talvar, and more. He also played important roles in International blockbuster films like Slumdog Millionaire, Jurassic World, The Amazing Spider-Man and Life of Pi.
Irrfan was last seen in the recent Hindi film, Angrezi Medium, that hit the screens, just a week before the lockdown. We, at Galatta Media, express our deepest condolences to Irrfan’s family and pray for the departed soul to rest in peace. A big and shocking loss indeed!
