Thalapathy Vijay’s Bigil is one of the biggest hits of last year that collected over 300 crores at the worldwide box office. Directed by Atlee and produced by AGS Entertainment, Bigil was an action based sports drama that traced the journey of Tamil Nadu Women’s Football Team. Vijay was seen in dual roles, as the iconic don - Rayappan and the super smart and classy Michael (aka Bigil) who is the coach of the Women’s Football team. Vijay’s charismatic screen presence and energetic performance earned positive reviews from the fans and critics. Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Vivekh, Daniel Balaji, Amritha Aiyer, Indhuja, Reba Monica John, Varsha Bollamma, Indraja Shankar, Gayathri Reddy, formed the supporting cast.

Having said that, Bigil was recently aired on Sun TV, on August 2, sunday evening at 6.30 PM. This happened to be Bigil's second telecast on Sun TV after its release. Now, the BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) has officially released the statistics report of Bigil’s TRP rating and impression. Bigil has recorded a staggering 16,936,000 impressions (from its telecast on August 2), thereby becoming the most viewed Tamil film during this lockdown (March 22 - present). Thala Ajith's Viswasam was holding the record for the most viewed Tamil film during the lockdown with 16,120,000 impressions, but Vijay's Bigil has now bagged that record.

Notably, this recent telecast’s impression is much higher than the film's first world premiere which recorded 16,473,000 impressions. Suriya's Kaappaan, directed by K.V.Anand has got the second place with 9,159,000 impressions from its telecast on August 1 evening. This report has been calculated for the 31st week of the year, dated between August 1 and August 7. This record breaking viewership has once again proved the star power of Thalapathy Vijay among the household audience. Vijay fans are completely delighted and happy about this record and the entire social media is abuzz about it.

Interestingly, through this second telecast, Bigil has got the third place in all time top 10 Tamil movies with highest TRP ratings and impressions. In the all time picture, Viswasam (18,143,000) stands at first place and Pichaikkaran (17,696,000) is at second place, followed by Bigil's recent telecast.
