The entire world's focus has been on Afghanistan over the past few days after the Taliban took back the country, with many instances of injustices being reported every day since last week. In that light, popular Hindi actress Arshi Khan, known for her appearances in Bigg Boss 11 (2017) and Bigg Boss 14 (2020-21), has in a recent interview revealed that she was going to tie the knot with an Afghan cricketer in October, but decided to call off the engagement in fear of the situation in the country.
Arshi said, "I was about to get engaged in the month of October, with an Afghanistan cricketer. He was chosen by my father. But after the Taliban took over Afghanistan we cancelled the engagement. He was my father’s friend’s son. So now we are also on talking terms and are like friends but I’m happy. Now I’m sure to find my partner in an Indian guy." She further stated, "I'm an Afghani Pathan, and my family belongs to the Yusuf Zaheer Pathan ethnic group. My grandfather had migrated from Afghanistan and was a jailer in Bhopal. My roots are in Afghanistan but I am an Indian citizen."
Arshi Khan moved to Afghanistan from India when she was four years old and shot to fame after she appeared on Bigg Boss 11. In a move that surprised fans everywhere, she was also announced as a challenger on Bigg Boss 14, with both her stints garnering a massive fan following. Arshi has been seen in a number of reality shows and music videos, while also featuring on popular TV shows like Vish, Ishq Mein Marjawan and Savitri Devi College & Hospital. She has also made appearances in web series like Raat Ki Rani Begum Jaan and The Evil Desires.
