Blockbuster director SS Rajamouli's Chatrapathi which released in 2005 is all set to be remade in Hindi. Chatrapathi was an action drama that featured Prabhas and Shriya Saran in the lead roles and Bhanupriya, Shafi, Pradeep Rawat, Kota Srinivasa Rao, and others in supporting roles. Produced by BVSN Prasad, the film had music scored by MM Keeravani, cinematography by KK Senthil Kumar, and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Rajamouli's father KV Vijayendra Prasad wrote the story of the film.
Coming back to the topic, this Hindi remake will feature popular Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas in the lead role. Notably, Chatrapathi's Hindi remake will mark Sai Sreenivas' debut in Hindi cinema. This film will be directed by VV Vinayak who has already made blockbuster movies like Bunny and Khaidi No 150 (Kaththi remake). Pen Studios will bankroll the film. Talking about the project, producer Jayantilal Gada, Chairman of Pen Studios said, "Chatrapathi is a great script and we needed a Southern star to carry it to Bollywood and we saw Bellamkonda as a perfect fit. We are very excited about the project and everything is falling in place at a great speed. We have updated the script to match Bollywood sensibilities,".
Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas said, "This is a perfect project for my big debut in Bollywood. It's a great opportunity to collaborate with Dr Gada and Pen Studios and to be reunited with my first ever director VV Vinayak sir. Although, taking on a role that Prabhas did is a huge responsibility, but I am I did, as it's a perfect script". Notably, VV Vinayak directed Bellamkonda's debut Telugu film, Alludu Seenu and the same filmmaker will now launch him in Hindi, as well. An exciting project is on cards. Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas was last seen in Rakshasudu, the Telugu remake of Vishnu Vishal's blockbuster hit, Ratsasan. Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran played the female lead in this remake that was directed by Ramesh Varma and produced by Havish and Satyanarayana Koneru under the banner of A Studio.
