Leading Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan is gearing up for a massive Pongal/Sankranti release in cinemas in January 2024. The upcoming big-budget science-fiction film directed by R. Ravikumar of Indru Netru Naalai fame and featuring music composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman has now been announced to be coming out in 65 countries worldwide and the highest number of screens in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. This latest announcement from the Ayalaan team once again reaffirms the release plans and comes as a big reassurance for Sivakarthikeyan's fans, who will soon be looking to kickstart the celebrations.
Ayalaan had a fun-filled teaser released in October giving fans a glimpse of the action that awaits them in theatres early next year. The film touched upon various topics such as climate change and the subsequent harm to the environment, including the quest for alternate sources of energy, while also showcasing various sci-fi elements. Ayalaan, which was announced back in 2016, was reportedly shot over a three-year period and is billed to be one of the most ambitious ventures in Tamil cinema history as it includes over 4500 visual effects shots; the most for a full-length live-action Indian film to date.
Initially announced to be launched into theatres earlier this month for Diwali, the Ayalaan team shuffled the release plans to January 2024 stating that the extra time would enhance the film's quality and reach its full potential while assuring a remarkable viewing experience. The film has Sivakarthikeyan paired with Rakul Preet Singh, who will be seen on Tamil cinema screens once again after NGK (2019), with the ensemble cast featuring the likes of Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Banupriya, Bala Saravanan, among others. With the release works already underway, fans are looking forward to promotions on Ayalaan to kick-off in the days ahead as many await a new song to be out next after the 'Vera Level Sago' track sung by A. R. Rahman turned out to be a chart-topping hit.
