Atlee had last directed Thalapathy Vijay’s Bigil which turned out to be a huge blockbuster at the worldwide box office. The sensational director is currently busy with the scripting and pre-production works of his next with Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Though an official announcement is yet to be made, it is most likely that the duo will collaborate for a Hindi action film. Meanwhile, director Atlee recently acquired the release rights of Kaithi fame Arjun Das’ Andhaghaaram and it was revealed that he would present the film under his banner of A for Apple Productions. Andhaghaaram was a film that was shot and completed a few years before but couldn’t make it to the screens due to various financial problems.
However, after Atlee came into the picture, the film went into safe hands and a good vibe surrounded it. Having said that, it has now been officially announced that Andhaghaaram will have a direct OTT (digital) release on Netflix platform on November 24. Director Atlee shared the good news with his fans and followers through a new poster from the film. He sounded very confident about the final product and said that it would leave an impact. He was also all praise for the film’s director, Vignarajan, who is making his Tamil cinema debut.
Sharing the posters, Atlee wrote, “I am delighted that Andhaghaaram has found a home on Netflix. The film has been appreciated by many already & through @NetflixIndia, it will reach audiences around India and the world, who have a taste for stories, regardless of language. #Andhaghaaram This is @vvignarajan debut feature, but he is a name that people will remember long after they have watched the film." #Andhaghaaram Tamil #andhakaaram Telugu @NetflixIndia on nov 24th”.
Produced by O2 Pictures in association with Passion Studios, Andhaghaaram has music scored by Pradeep Kumar, cinematography by Edwin Sakay and editing by Sathyarajan Natarajan. Arjun Das, Vinoth Kishan, Pooja Ramachandran and Meesha Ghoshal play the lead roles in this dark thriller. The film is touted to have a strong content that will keep the audience engaged throughout the runtime. The film's trailer which released a few months before showed good promise and received a positive response.
