Arunraja Kamaraj was an assistant director of Nelson Dilipkumar and has grown to be a filmmaker. He made his first film Kanaa which was a super-hit film that featured Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj in important roles and was produced by his close-friend well-known actor Sivakarthikeyan. The director then went on to make the film Nenjukku Needhi which had Udhayanidhi Stalin as the lead and was the remake of the popular Hindi film Article 15. He has also acted in various films and has penned lyrics. The next venture of the talented filmmaker has now been announced.
Disney+ Hotstar, a popular streaming platform, has announced the next venture of the director. They have announced that Arunraja Kamaraj will write and direct the web series titled Label. The series will star actor Jai who was last seen in the film Coffee With kadhal and has acted in the Hotstar series Triples as lead. The series will also have Tanya Hope of Dharala Prabhu fame and Mahendran, who played the younger version of Vijay Sethupathi in Master, in significant roles. The director is also an introducing and a debut talent Harishankar Narayanan in the series.
The streaming platform made the announcement with a poster of the web series saying “We are excited to announce the next Hotstar Specials Web-series Label with Director Arunraja Kamaraj and Actor Jai. The series will have music composed by the talented Sam CS and produced by AJ Prabhakaran. The OTT platform also released a picture with the cast and crew of the film and the firm the picture looks like Suresh Chakravarthy would also be a part of the series. The announcement poster shows a seal stamp sporting with the words Label with the caption of a Thirukural in Tamil which translate to “if you are born, be born with qualities conductive to fame”. As the poster has created massive anticipation among fans, more announcements from the crew about the series can be expected soon.
