With several release dates flying around due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic taking place, a new update regarding another one has surfaced. The highly anticipated Jhund, starring Amitabh Bachchan has been given the green light to make its way on to the big screen on 4th March 2022. The makers took to social media to share a new poster that carries the new release date. "Iss toli se muqaabla karne ke liye raho taiyaar! Humari team aa rahi hai. #Jhund releasing on 4th March 2022 in cinemas near you,", wrote Amitabh on his official Twitter page.
The biographical sports drama is directed by Nagraj Manjule and is based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer. It stars Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay Barse, Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru. Nagraj is also one of the producers of the film and joining him are Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Hiremath, Nagraj Manjule, Gargee Kulkarni and Meenu Arora under the banner of T-Series, Tandav Films Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Aatpat Films. Musical duo Ajay-Atul is in charge of the music, the cinematography is taken up by Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti while Kutub Inamdar and Vaibhav Dabhade have been roped in as the editors.
In the film, Bachchan plays a professor who motivates and uplifts street children to form a football team. This is the first of many films lined up for Big B for the year 2022. He is to star in Runway 34 alongside Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet which is to hit the theatres on 29th April 2022. Besides this, he will also be seen in Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt later in 9th September 2022 directed by Ayan Mukerji who has previously worked as an assistant director with Big B on Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. He is currently filming for the movie Goodbye with Rashmika Mandanna. The highly anticipated Matt Reeves' The Batman is also releasing on 4th March 2022. It will be interesting to witness the clash between these two titans at the box office.
