A massive film in the making, the upcoming Telugu period war action drama, RRR, being made at an estimated budget of Rs. 350-400 crores, is director SS Rajamouli’s next after the filmmaker delivered the blockbuster Baahubali films. Announced to hit screens this year on July 30 under the DVV Entertainment banner, RRR is a fictitious story based on legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem, and will see Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles.
Set in the 1920s during the pre-Independence era, RRR includes a diverse cast among whom Bollywood star Ajay Devgn too was announced to be playing an exended cameo. Having said that, DVV Entertainment has now announced that the National Award-winning actor has joined the ongoing schedule of RRR and will kickstart filming his portions starting today.
There are massive expectations surrounding RRR as the highly ambitious period film includes apart from Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, and Ajay Devgn names like top Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, Tamil actor Samuthirakani, Hollywood actors Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody as the lead antagonists, Scott and Lady Scott, while the female lead is being portrayed by actress Olivia Morris as the character named Jennifer. Featuring music by M. M. Keeravani, RRR will be coming out in as many as 10 languages including Tamil and Hindi and is set to be a grand theatrical treat when it arrives later this year.
