Thalapathy Vijay's next film, Thalapathy 66 was officially launched with a formal pooja at the beginning of this month and the first schedule shoot has already been wrapped up which included a song shoot. The second schedule is expected to begin in the first week of May and further details are awaited. Thalapathy 66 is directed by Vamshi Paidipally, one of the leading filmmakers of Telugu cinema, best known for directing films like Maharshi and Oopiri (Thozha in Tamil). Produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations, this film will have the young and happening Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead, marking her first association with Thalapathy Vijay.
Notably, this is her second film in Kollywood after Karthi's Sulthan. Supreme Star Sarath Kumar will be seen playing a pivotal role, while the rest of the cast is yet to be known.
Having said that, one more actor has now joined the team of Thalapathy 66 and the official update regarding the same is out. Shaam, one of the most loved actors of the 2000s, will be seen playing an important character in the Vijay starrer and this update has garnered wide attention on social media. Shaam has acted with Thalapathy Vijay in SJ Suryah's Kushi in an uncredited role, but this will be the first time he will be playing a full-fledged character. Shaam made the official announcement about this on his official Instagram page and the update has turned viral.
Expressing his happiness about being a part of this biggie, Shaam wrote, "LOOKING FORWARD TO WORK WITH THE ONE AND ONLY THALAPATHY ð¥ ð¥. @#thalapathy66 #actorshaam #thalapathyvijay #shaam". Shaam is expected to start shooting for the Vijay starrer from the next schedule. Thalapathy 66 has music composed by Thaman who is in great form in recent years. Karthik Palani of Penguin and Adipurush fame will be cranking the camera for this film that has editing by Praveen KL. Vivek will be penning the lyrics, dialogues and additional screenplay of Thalapathy 66.
