The 95th Academy Awards is speculated to be the first of many. This time, Oscars 2023 has recognized more people of color and gave opportunity to deserving women to showcase their talent. Along with that, there are other surprising factors which were witnessed for the first time in Oscars.

1. Michelle Yeoh is the First Asian Woman to bag the award for Best Actress category. Her multifaceted performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once is incredible.

2. The first Cuban actress nominated for the category Best Actress is Ana De Armas who took us into another dimension with her role as Marilyn Monroe in the movie Blonde.

3. It is the first time masterpieces of Indian productions have been nominated for multiple categories. 'Naatu Naatu' from RRR, The Elephant Whisperers and All that Breathes are the three masterworks, which added a feather to India’s honor.

4.The first Indian song to sweep the board for the Best Song category is 'Naatu Naatu' from the film RRR.

5. The Elephant Whisperers is a simple and realistic sequence that whispered the ethereality of nature and became the first Indian film to take the prize for the Best Documentary Short category.

6. Ruth E. Carter didn’t stop with a full stop in rewriting her history. She became the first Black woman to win multiple Academy Awards and won her second Oscar for the Best Costume Design category in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the 95th Academy Awards.
