Vijay Antony's next big film, Raththam, directed by CS Amuthan of Thamizh Padam fame is finally headed to theatres. The upcoming film produced by Kamal Bohra, G. Dhananjayan, Pradeep B, and Pankaj Bohra under the Infiniti Film Ventures banner has been revealed to come out in cinemas on September 28, with the team now releasing a fun video carrying the big announcement. Raththam's release has been long awaited after the makers dropped an intriguing teaser in late 2022 featuring Vijay Antony in a few intense action sequences and is also a new route for CS Amudhan, who is best known for his parody genre films.
The Raththam release date announcement video features Vijay Antony and producer Dhananjayan, with the latter explaining the massive plans for the publicity that includes releasing a motion poster, teaser, first single, first promo, second single, second promo, along with the trailer being promoted by leading Tamil cinema filmmakers, while also suggesting a grand audio launch being held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai before he falls short of breath. The video then shows Dhananjayan inside an ambulance being given life support, who then wakes up to inform Vijay Antony that Raththam is coming out in theatres on September 28.

Raththam will see Vijay Antony sharing screen space with actresses Mahima Nambiar, Nandita Swetha, and Remya Nambeesan, and the teaser released last year showed how an individual's life goes wrong after an incident and his quest to get things back on track in his life. The film is Vijay Antony's third big release of 2023 after his Pichaikkaran 2 and Kolai, and he will surely be looking to hit the bullseye once again. There's also quite a lot of curiosity surrounding Raththam as director CS Amuthan has moved from comedy to the thriller genre, and it will be interesting to see what he's cooked for fans this time.
