'Thalapathy' Vijay's next film, The Greatest of All Time, will open in cinemas in a grand manner this year and is coming out after the blockbuster success of the actor's Leo (2023). The upcoming film is being directed by blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu and will feature music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and a major chunk of production has already been completed. With The Greatest of All Time turning out to be one of the biggest films in production in Tamil cinema history, Venkat Prabhu, on Monday, March 4, addressed media persons at the J Baby press meet in Chennai where he responded to rumors about the Vijay film being a remake, while also opening up on the scale of the computer graphics involved.
Upon being queried whether The Greatest of All Time is a remake of Oscar winner Will Smith's Gemini Man (2019), Venkat Prabhu denied the runors and asserted that Vijay will be seen in dual roles. He further made a request to not confuse one of the roles as a clone based on the film's poster. When asked about Vijay revealing his plans to act in only one venture after The Greatest of All Time, the filmmaker said that he and his film's team came to know about the actor's decision to enter politics after reading press release last month. Venkat Prabhu further said that he directly expressed his wish to Vijay to see him in more films, while also sharing his excitement if the actor gave his nod to do Leo 2.
In regard to whether The Greatest of All Time is being planned for a release on Vijay's birthday, Venkat Prabhu informed that it is too early to say anything since there is still a lot of work to be overseen in the computer graphics department in Los Angeles. He also said that there are around 5-6 visual effects companies in Chennai that are involved with the CG work, while informing that the film will be technically strong. Venkat Prabhu further stated that all the developments in The Greatest of All Time are based on the post-production works since a lot of time is necessary to make changes in the CG if they are not pleased with the output.
