Working for his production house Handmade Films gives complete freedom to Santhanam, which makes a lot of difference for him as it allows him to play around with the dialogues and characterisation and improvise on the sets of their project. He feels this freedom allows him to bring out a lot of fresh comedy for the audiences. He points out that every movie and its comedy track are special and it is a different experience by itself. He reads books and watches movies to improvise on what he can do, as proper homework before the shoot gives him a lot of scope to keep improving and attributes this factor as a reason for his ability to play so many roles in various films. Talking about his production house, Santhanam says that, it is not a common feat to run a production house as he has to concentrate on making sure that it is in complete control without letting it cross boundaries. Santhanam is turning a true multi-tasker indeed!
