We have already reported that Telugu director Nag Ashwin is working on a Telugu-Tamil bilingual biopic on the life of late legendary actress Savitri. Popularly know as the 'Lady Sivaji Ganesan', Savitri is famous for her subtle emotions and method acting skills. Titled Mahanati, this Tamil-Telugu period film will be set in the golden era and recently, Samantha was approached but not for the title role. Though names of Vidya Balan and Nithya Mene were linked to the project, now it looks like Keerthy Suresh will play the title role. In a recent interview, the director has revealed that they are in talks with the Rajini Murugan actress and she will sign the dotted lines soon.
